Aren’t we shocked out of our minds to find out that Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan communicated with a radical imam who had ties to the 9/11 hijackers and was trying to communicate with Al Kaeda. The FBI and U.S. intelligence community had many warning signs of this killer’s Muslim radicalization several months before his rampage at Ft. Hood. The bottom line is no matter how the silly proportions laid out to ‘who knew what,’ the intelligence community, FBI and army knew this guy was radicalized, making anti American and anti military statements. They also knew he was trying to contact Jihadists and enemies to our country. We might have well injected a Ted Bundy into the military base and said ‘go at it.’ Our troops at Ft. Hood were set up and in horrible danger from a man who planned a huge killing spree, but apparently, as usual, authorities in the know about this thug, wanted to just watch and wait, watch and wait….did I say watch and wait yet? Let me translate what this approach really meant…..shoot and kill, shoot land kill, shoot and kill as you yell praises to Allah.
Then what do we hear as the facts continue to come out about this horror show? Our President and other leftists speak of caution….let the facts all come out…..don’t jump to conclusions….don’t target Islam…..don’t get mad at Muslims….bla bla bla.
What are we supposed to notice then? What additional facts do we need to form an opinion? We know Hassan tried to reach Al Kaeda. We know he was trying to contact a radical imam. We know he was making radical statements for months. Doug Hagmann of Northeast Intelligence network profiles these links in his article. In an earlier article, Doug reminded us of all the various attacks made against our soldiers by Muslim soldiers over the last several years.
Many are speculating that Hasan could have been a victim of PTSD, “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.” Certainly the other attacks by Muslims in the army the last several years also had to do with stress and nothing at all to do with their call to Muslim Jihad.
Remember the grenade attack by Muslim Sgt. Hasan Karim Akbar, which killed Army Captain Christopher Seifert and Air Force Major Gregory Stone, while wounding 14 others? Then there was the other PTSD moment of Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad at a Little Rock recruiting center, killing two officers. There is the other ‘stress’ moment of Hassan Abujihaad who provided Islamic terrorists with sensitive information about the location of Navy ships and their weaknesses. Let us not forget the celebrated U.S. Army captain James “Yousef” Lee, the former Muslim chaplain charged with espionage while serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Do we see a common thread anywhere? I know…..they were all Scottish Highlanders!
It is quite obvious to me that radical Muslims from enlisted to high ranking officers have infiltrated our politically correct military and have looked for and found all kinds of ways to sabotage our military from within.
I have always said I would rather be Rude and alive than polite and dead. I would imagine most of our military is feeling that about now. No one wants to target a Muslim soldier falsely, however, a strong case can and must be made to profile Muslim soldiers and do careful background checks. If there are any communications with radicals, attendance at radical Mosques, statements or other red flags, these people should be exited immediately from our military. The question is: Will the military leadership continue to ignore the ongoing danger of radical Islamics in our military? How many attacks have to occur to understand this infiltration and compromise by Islamic radicals?
It is time to start profiling Islamic soldiers and it is time that our military leadership grow some brass and stand up to them. If there is no sign of radical behavior, words or connections, fine. However, if there is any sign, anywhere, they should be expelled immediately from our military without question. What are we waiting for? Do we want a larger body count next time? We may well get it if our military high ups don’t wake up.
